Press Release: Public Service Alliance Marks Fifth Anniversary of January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol
Today, Public Service Alliance Founder & CEO Isabella Ulloa released the following statement on the fifth anniversary of the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol:
“Five years ago today, our nation witnessed one of the most violent attacks on American public servants in modern history: U.S. Capitol Police officers, members of the National Guard, Members of Congress, and congressional staff were threatened and assaulted simply for doing their jobs.
“In the aftermath of that day, millions of Americans of all political stripes made a solemn vow: that a day like January 6th would never happen again. Yet, in the five years since, political violence and threats against public servants have only increased nationwide. Across parties and every level of government, those who serve their communities face growing dangers, often forcing them to choose between public service and protecting their families. In America, this should be unacceptable.
“Protecting public servants is not a partisan issue. It’s an American imperative. At the Public Service Alliance, we remain unwavering in our commitment to protect current and former public servants across political lines, and we cannot do it alone. As a country, we must lower the temperature of our discourse and stand up for those who serve our country. We can prevent the next tragedy if we choose to do so.”
