PSA Security Project

PSA is the first nonpartisan organization built to empower America’s estimated nearly 40 million current and former public servants, across political lines, to better protect themselves and their families. In addition to scaling tech-enabled products such as the PSA Marketplace, we also developed the PSA Security Project to advance the following priorities:

Defray Costs of Critical Services

Increase access to the PSA Marketplace via funds that make possible the following:

  • PSA Legal Network (subsidized consultations with a retained law firm)
  • PSA Crisis Communications Network (free sessions with experts)
  • PSA Security Consultations (subsidized sessions with experts)
  • Need-based subsidies to further defray the costs of third-party services that remain cost prohibitive for certain individuals despite discounted rates for PSA users (coming soon and subject to funding)

Public Education

Develop and amplify communications campaigns on:

  • Threats facing current and former public servants nationwide
  • How to stay safe
  • Bipartisan calls to action to lower the temperature and encourage civility

PSA and The Impact Project built The Security Map, an interactive map that visualizes violent threats to America’s public servants over the last decade.

The map is grounded in one of the most comprehensive public datasets of its kind and the findings show a decade-long escalation in violent threats against public servants across political lines and nationwide.
